Project information

Duration: May, 1 2025 – April, 30 2027
Brief project description:
The project “Sustainable tourism in Germany – practical contributions and recommendations from the associations” contributes to the further development of sustainable tourism in Germany. It offers an exchange platform for a large number of professional associations that are active in German tourism (e.g. tourism organizations, protected areas, leisure associations, nature conservation) and works to further develop sustainability in tourism through impulses in various key topics.
Through the moderation of ETE-LT&C e.V., the association working group enables a continuous exchange about the work and ongoing projects of the participating associations as well as coordination on approaches to selected current topics. Current and selected key topics are intended to make joint practical contributions to the promotion of sustainable tourism.
The topics are intended to be made accessible to a broad audience of players in the tourism industry through accompanying specialist conferences and in-depth recommendations in the form of handouts. The main topics of the planned project are: “Rural regions and rural tourism”, “Sustainable mobility in regions”, “Sustainable canoe tourism” and “Climate protection and sustainability along the travel chain”. In addition to an in-depth discussion of the main topics, practical recommendations for implementation should be derived.
