Study Bike Tourism
The study “Cycle tourism today and in the future: mood for 2021” addresses the upswing in the use of e-bikes. The study is based on an industry survey in order to obtain a picture of the mood in German regions on the importance of e-bikes and e-mountain bikes and to obtain recommendations for action for strategic work at the destination level.
Best Practice Guides
The handout “Nature conservation and tourist leisure activities in the forest habitat – measures and limits of visitor guidance” shows the potential for conflict that arises from the increased pressure of use in forests and protected areas, as leisure activities can affect the fauna and flora. The handout provides an introduction to the topic of sturgeon ecology and gives several examples of successful visitor guidance and other options for dealing with these usage conflicts.

The handout “Climate trails – a tourist contribution to environmental education” serves as a template for the conception of thematic hiking trails. The topic of climate change in the forest is discussed using the example of a climate path in Rhineland-Palatinate. The climate path in Bremen shows the connection between climate change and colonialism.
